What is RTK Correction?

Standard GPS is accurate to around 3–5 metres — far too imprecise for modern precision agriculture. Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) correction dramatically improves this to under 2 centimetres.

Aurora RTK operates a network of fixed ground-based reference stations across the UK. These stations compare their known position with GPS signals in real time and broadcast correction data via the internet (NTRIP protocol) to your in-cab receiver.

The result: your machinery knows exactly where it is — every time, in any conditions.

Host a Base Station

Aurora RTK's network depends on strategically placed ground-based reference stations. If you have a suitable site — a farm building rooftop, a grain store, a water tower, or an exposed hilltop — you could host one of our stations and earn rewards in return.

Installation is quick, non-intrusive, and fully managed by our team.

What does a base station look like?

Most of our installations have their own self contained solar-based power supply and their own wireless internet connection.
